Everything you need to know about the Midwest Climate Summit event logistics, from initial registration to getting involved with workshops. If you still have questions after reviewing the FAQ, please email climatesummit@wustl.edu.

Registration

Is there a fee to participate in the Midwest Climate Summit?

The Midwest Climate Summit is free and open to the public.  Attendees can register at: https://midwestclimatesummit.wustl.edu/event-details/think-tank-registration/

Is registration required to participate in the workshops and plenary sessions?

Yes.  Advance registration is required for participation in both the plenary sessions and workshops.  Only registered participants will receive a confirmation email with the link to participate in the upcoming session.

What if I’m already registered for the plenary sessions and would like to add workshops to my registration or change the workshops I already pre-registered for.  How do I do this?

Email us at: climatesummit@wustl.edu with the changes you would like made and we will do our best to accommodate you.  An email will be sent 2 days prior to the event to confirm your workshop assignment.

Is there a way to automatically add the events to my calendar?

Your confirmation email will include a link to the upcoming Session’s landing page. There is an option to add the upcoming event to your calendar on the landing page.

Are Closed Captioning services offered?

Due to the platform being used to stream the conference content, LIVE closed captioning is not available. We are looking into options to offer the recorded keynote presentations with closed captioning. If you are interested in closed captioning for the Midwest Climate Summit’s keynote sessions, please email us at: ClimateSummit@wustl.edu.

Workshops

Do I need to be pre-registered for a workshop in order to participate?

Yes, advance registration is required for both plenary sessions and workshops.

What is the difference between Listening vs Active Participant?

We originally asked registrants to indicate if they wanted to be an “Active” or “Listening” workshop participant. We have removed this from the registration page, allowing attendees to decide during the workshop if they want to actively engage in the workshop by asking the speakers questions or if they prefer to simply listen to the presentations.

Where do I get the link to join my workshop?

Two days prior to the event, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the upcoming plenary session. On the plenary session landing page, you will click on the designated workshop link and join the workshop immediately following the plenary session.

NOTE: You can ONLY participate in a workshop if your confirmation email indicates you are registered for a specific workshop.

I heard the workshops will be done through Zoom Meetings.  Is there anything I need to do in advance?

Please be sure to have Zoom uploaded on the device you will be using in advance of the session. The workshop moderator will review some protocol for using Zoom at the start of each workshop.

Are workshops recorded to view at a later date?

No, workshops will not be recorded.

Plenary Sessions

I received a link to the landing page but don’t see any presentations taking place.  Am I in the right place?

Yes.  Once you arrive on the landing page, scroll down to view the video player.  On the day of the event, a few minutes before 10:00am central time, click on the arrow below the video player to view the Plenary Session presentation.

Can I use the same link from last week’s session to watch the next session?

No, there will be a unique link emailed each week (2 days prior to the session) with the upcoming plenary session link.

Are plenary sessions recorded to view at a later date?

Yes.  An email will be sent to conference participants once the recordings are available for viewing. The recordings will be hosted on this page, and are accessible to the general public.

How can I get more involved?

If you would like to be more involved and play a bigger role in addressing the concerns being raised through the Midwest Climate Summit, please email us at: climatesummit@wustl.edu.
